Newell’s vs Barracas Central
Newell’s Old Boys played their worst game in this league campaign last Sunday, when they were dominated by newly-promoted side Instituto and ended up losing 3-1 away from home. As a result, Gabriel Heinze’s men continue producing an irregular performance in the current Liga Profesional, accumulating seven points in five rounds as a product of two victories, one draw and two losses. On a positive note, Newell’s have been strong at home lately: they won their last three at their own stadium without even conceding.
Barracas Central are still struggling to find their best version, but they had enough to return to winning ways last time out: it was a controversial 1-0 home success over Gimnasia LP, with Carlos Arce netting the winner in the first half. Therefore, El Guapo made it seven points in five matches in the Liga Profesional, having lost only one of the last four in this competition (two victories and one stalemate).
Newell’s has been irregular overall but strong at home, and I expect them to get the 3 points here against this poor Barracas team.
