Newell’s vs Atletico Tucuman
Newell’s Old Boys are on three league games without a win (one draw and two defeats) following their 2-0 away loss at Defensa y Justicia last Wednesday. Therefore, Fernando Gamboa’s men continue producing an irregular campaign in the Liga Profesional, accumulating 11 points to occupy one of the mid-table spots. However, La Lepra have been unbeaten in their last eight home matches in domestic action, having won four and drawn four since losing to Independiente in March.
Atletico Tucuman put an end to their four-game winless streak of two draws and two defeats in league action last Tuesday, when they beat Independiente (who were leaders before the game) 2-0 at home. El Decano made it 11 points in seven games to keep their hope alive regarding the continental tickets for next year. On away turf, Atletico took only three of those points, having beaten Godoy Cruz and lost the other three games.
Newell’s at home always scores, Atletico is a good attacking team, so I expect goals here.
