Lanus vs Rosario Central
Lanus continue to improve week after week in 2023. Last Monday, the team showed a very solid performance to beat Estudiantes 2-0 away thanks to goals from Jose Canale and Franco Troyansky. El Granate became the only league leaders on nine points, two above Rosario Central, Belgrano and Huracan, and made it four Liga Profesional matches without defeat (three victories and one draw). Lanus won their last home match (2-1 over San Lorenzo) to stop a three-game losing streak at Estadio Nestor Diaz Perez.
Rosario Central fought more than expected last Sunday but they still had enough to reverse the score and beat relegation candidates Sarandi Arsenal 2-1 at home, with Francis Mac Allister and Alejo Veliz scoring. Thanks to that win, El Canalla made it seven points, only two behind league leaders Lanus. They also are now on eight league games unbeaten, winning three and drawing five. On a sorry note, Central claimed a single victory across their last nine away matches, along with five draws and three losses.
The two surprises of the first 3 rounds meet here and the winner will be leaders after this round. Rosario Central won’t have their best and most experienced defender, Carlos Quintana, so I like the OVER here between these two teams that have scored in all their games so far this season.
