Lanus vs Colon

 

Lanus wasted a 2-0 lead last Monday and eventually had to settle for a 2-2 draw away at Sarandi Arsenal in an entertaining game. Therefore, El Granate continue producing an irregular campaign in the Copa Liga Profesional, having collected five points in as many games under coach Jorge Almiron so far (and having not won any of the last three in the league, including two draws and one loss). At home, Lanus are unbeaten in their last eight domestic matches, but they won only two and drew six of those.

Colon played their worst game of the season last Monday and ended up losing 1-0 away at newcomers Tigre. It was their first defeat in this competition after three victories and one draw and that’s why Julio Falcioni’s men remain occupying the second place in group B on ten points, three behind leaders Estudiantes. El Sabalero managed a single victory across their last five league matches on the road (at CA Central Cordoba 2-0 in February), drawing two and losing two in that span.

Two teams with powerful attacks, they’ve been underperforming lately but I still expect goals with strikers like Jose Sand, Juan Lopez and Luis Rodriguez on the pitch.
