Lanus vs Central Cordoba
Lanus are going through an enjoyable moment of form. Last Sunday, the team showed excellent skills to secure a massive 4-0 away success at Defensa y Justicia, who had been unbeaten in the previous six league games. El Granate are now sitting in third spot of the group B table on 16 points after five matches without defeat in this competition (four victories and one draw) to leave behind the relegation danger that threatened them before the season started. Lanus also are unbeaten in their last three at Estadio Nestor Diaz Perez, having won two and drawn one in that time.
CA Central Cordoba are going through a difficult moment. Last Friday, the team succumbed to a frustrating 1-0 away defeat to Tigre (who were bottom-placed before the game) following a terrible performance. El Ferroviario are now without a win in their last four in league action, drawing two and losing two. Abel Balbo’s men earned only five points in eight rounds in the Copa Liga Profesional, just two points above the relegation zone via the aggregate table. On away turf, Central remain winless in the last eight, with four stalemates and four defeats.
This round has been full of surprises but I don’t expect one here. Lanus can become leaders of Group B with a win, they are on a great run lately and coming from a perfect 4-0 win at Defensa y Justicia, so they should beat the poor and irregular Central Cordoba.
