Lanus vs Atletico Tucuman
Lanus beat Talleres 1-0 at home in their last league game, but couldn’t advance to the playoffs as the team had lost the previous four matches in the Copa Liga Profesional. With 19 points in the aggregate table, they will now fight for a continental ticket. After closing that campaign, the team were knocked out of the Copa Sudamericana (second-placed in group H). El Granate won six of their last nine home matches in domestic action, drawing one and losing two.
Atletico Tucuman made it two consecutive league wins to accumulate 18 points in the last league tournament. Even though it wasn’t enough to qualify for the playoffs, the team are now just two points away from the last Copa Sudamericana spot in the aggregate table. On away turf, El Decano won two and lost one of the last three.
Atletico was a very overish team last season and I expect this to continue, especially against this Lanus that is a good attacking team but won’t have their regular goalkeeper and some missings in defense.
