Lanus – Union

Lanus took a giant step towards the Copa Liga Profesional playoffs last time out, securing a massive 1-0 away success at Belgrano thanks to a strike from Walter Bou in the 77th minute. El Granate made it six wins across their last eight league matches (along with one draw and one defeat) to stay second-placed in group B on 22 points, trailing leaders Godoy Cruz by just one. On a sorry note, Lanus lost to CA Central Cordoba 1-0 in their last home match after three games unbeaten at Estadio Nestor Diaz Perez (winning two and drawing one). Midfielder Braian Aguirre returns from suspension.

Union Santa Fe wasted a big chance of climbing into the playoff zone in round 11, when they had to settle for a heartbreaking 2-2 home stalemate against CA Central Cordoba after conceding the equaliser in the seventh minute of stoppage time. Having lost only one of their last seven in league action (three victories and three draws), El Tatengue are now on 16 points in group B, trailing fourth-placed Newell’s Old Boys by two. Union lost 2-1 away at Defensa y Justicia in their last road game to stop a four-match unbeaten run of two wins and two draws as the visiting side.

This is a game they both need to win, Lanus would almost secure a playoff place if they can get the 3 points, while for Union a defeat would be really bad as they are 2 points behind the 4th placed team of Group B with 3 games left but two other teams in between them. Lanus has the the best attack of the group with 17 goals scored while union has conceded in 4 of the last 5 games, so I will go here for the OVER as I expect this to be an open game and going behind would make them go desperate.
