Argentine Primera Division: Lanus – Tigre Odds for October 26, 2023

Lanus – Tigre

Lanus showed slight improvements in coach Ricardo Zielinski’s debut, when the team secured a scoreless away draw at CA Central Cordoba. However, El Granate remain winless in the Copa Liga Profesional, with four draws and five defeats, which places them bottom in group B accumulating just four points, and keeps them out of the continental spots in the aggregate table (trailing tenth-placed Estudiantes by two points). At home, Lanus managed only two points from 12 available in this competition. Lanus centre back Jose Canale is suspended for Thursday after seeing a red card in the last game. Leandro Diaz, Felipe Pena and Braian Aguirre overcame their injuries.

Tigre see their crisis getting deeper game after game. Last Friday, the team produced a terrible performance and suffered a deserved 2-0 home loss to Newell’s Old Boys. That result means El Matador are on six league games without a win, drawing three and losing three (having not even scored in that spell). Accumulating only six points in nine matches in the Copa Liga Profesional, Lucas Pusineri’s men are now threatened by relegation, leading Huracan by two points in the aggregate table. Tigre lost three of their last four matches on away turf, just beating Boca Juniors 1-0 in that spell.

This looks like a great spot for Lanus to finally break this terrible run and win their first game of the season. They’ll have their best striker, Leandro Diaz, back from injury and will face this terrible Tigre that are on the edge of falling on the relegation zone.
