Argentine Primera Division: Instituto vs Tigre Odds for July 09, 2023

Instituto vs Tigre

Instituto secured a massive point on their struggle to avoid relegation threats last Thursday, when they drew 0-0 away at Argentinos Juniors after defending for most of the time. Even though La Gloria won only one of their last seven matches in league action (along with three stalemates and three defeats), they took four points from the last six on offer to make it 26 in total and stay out of the drop zone in the point-average table. Instituto are on four home matches unbeaten, winning two and drawing two since losing to CA Central Cordoba 2-0 in April. They will return to their own stadium on Sunday after hosting Belgrano at Estadio Mario Alberto Kempes.

Tigre are going through a very difficult moment. Last time out, the team showed a terrible version and ended up losing 2-1 at home against Banfield, which means El Matador claimed a single victory across their last ten matches in this competition (along with three stalemates and six losses). As a result of that streak, relegation is becoming a threat for them as the side remain on 25 points, six above Huracan, who are currently losing their top-flight status via the aggregate table. Furthermore, Tigre are without a win in their last nine league matches on the road, drawing three and losing six since beating Belgrano 2-0 in February. Centre back Abel Luciatti is suspended for Sunday after seeing a red card against Banfield. Defensive midfielder Sebastian Prediger succumbed to a muscle injury and will miss out. On the other hand, Lucas Menossi overcame a similar problem and is available.

Tigre has been awful lately, they will have some important missings again and next Thursday they have an important Copa Sudamericana game at Paraguay, so I’ll go with the hosts here who look more focused lately.
