Instituto vs Central Cordoba
Joaquin Varela’s goal allowed Instituto to avoid the defeat at home last Sunday, when they ended up drawing 1-1 against Banfield in an intense game. La Gloria are going through a mini slump in the context of a decent campaign: they won only one of the last five league games, drawing one and losing three in that time. As a result, Lucas Bovaglio’s men accumulated 17 points, which keeps them safe from relegation threats at the moment. As the hosting side, Instituto grabbed ten of those points, having recorded two victories, four stalemates and a single defeat so far.
CA Central Cordoba played one of their worst games of the season last Saturday, when they lost to Godoy Cruz 2-0 at home. That result represented their third consecutive league match without a win (one draw and two defeats). The disappointing streak means El Ferroviario remain on 15 points after 13 rounds of league action, which also places them just three points above the first relegation spot in the point-average, shared by Platense and Sarmiento. On away turf, Central Cordoba secured five points from 18 on offer this term as a product of one victory, two draws and three losses.
Sooner than later Instituto should return to be the solid team they were at home until a few weeks ago and against this Central Cordoba that are really bad when playing away looks like a good opportunity for them.
