Instituto – Velez

Instituto fans will have felt heartbroken following the team’s 1-0 away defeat at Platense last Friday as they conceded in the third minute of stoppage time. That devastating result represented their second consecutive loss in league action as La Gloria remain on 13 points after ten rounds in the Liga Profesional (still a decent campaign for one of the newly-promoted sides, who remain safe from relegation threats so far). Instituto have been irregular as the hosting side, securing six points in five home matches this term.

Velez Sarsfield fans will have felt frustrated as the team wasted a 3-1 lead against Banfield at home and ended up drawing 3-3 last Friday after conceding twice in the last ten minutes of the game. However, El Fortin made it five league games unbeaten, with two victories and three stalemates. As a result, they accumulate 14 points in the Liga Profesional after ten matches.

Both average more than a goal scored and a goal conceded per game so far this season, Velez is coming from a 3-3 thriller, so I expect at least a couple of goals here as well.
