Instituto – Colon

Instituto showed an improved version last Sunday to secure a point away at one of the best teams in the league. The scoreless draw against Talleres means La Gloria are on three winless league games, drawing two and losing one without even scoring, but they made it five points in the Copa Liga Profesional group A to hold a six-point gap over the relegation spot in the aggregate table, occupied by Huracan. Instituto have been irregular at home lately, with two victories, two draws and two losses across the last six matches.

Colon managed a vital win last Friday, when they beat Rosario Central 2-1 at home in a thrilling game with Ruben Botta netting the winner in the 84th minute. El Sabalero made it nine points in four rounds in the Copa Liga Profesional (having won three and lost one), which allows them to stay as group A leaders alongside Independiente. Furthermore, Nestor Gorosito’s men left the relegation spot in the aggregate table, now leading Huracan by three points. On a sorry note, Colon claimed a single victory across their last ten away matches in league action, drawing three and losing six.

Even though Instituto has been extremely underish so far this season, they will face here a Colon team that has scored in every game and is now desperate for more points to avoid relegation, so I would expect at least a couple here.
