Independiente vs Talleres
Independiente took their first point in this competition after drawing 1-1 away at San Lorenzo in an even match last Saturday. They continue producing an irregular campaign this season: El Rojo won only one of their last seven league games, drawing four and losing two, which keeps them out of the continental spots in the aggregate table. On a positive note, Independiente lost only one of their last 13 home matches in domestic action, winning five and drawing seven in that span.
After a poor campaign in the first semester, Talleres had a happy start in the Liga Profesional: with Federico Girotti and Enzo Diaz scoring, the team beat Sarmiento 2-0 at home. As a result, Pedro Caixinha’s men made it two consecutive victories in league action (both over the same opponents). However, they remain far away from the continental places in the aggregate table. In other news, Talleres are yet to win on the road in the 2022 league season, having grabbed a single point in seven matches so far.
Independiente should have won last week’s derby vs San Lorenzo and I’m not convinced by this Talleres despite their win against the very poor Sarmiento. I rate Independiente as the better team here and this odds at home are worth a bet.
