Independiente vs Racing
Independiente are showing great improvements with regard to the last season. On Sunday, the side grabbed three massive points via a big 2-0 away success at Instituto with Gabriel Neves and Lucas Gonzalez scoring. El Rojo made it three Copa Liga Profesional matches unbeaten (winning two and drawing one) to accumulate 13 points and became group A leaders. At home, Independiente managed three points from six available so far, winning one and losing one.
Racing Club’s excellent form has been stopped by the best team in the league last weekend. Even though it was an even game, the side ended up losing 2-0 against group B leaders Godoy Cruz at home. That result put an end to La Academia’s four-match unbeaten streak of three victories and one draw in the Copa Liga Profesional and also displaced them from the playoff spots in group B, accumulating ten points. Racing are without defeat in their last nine away matches in league action, having won three and drawn six in that spell. Roger Martinez and Johan Carbonero are available on Saturday after overcoming their injuries.
One of the biggest derbies in the league and even if Racing lost last week, they both arrive in good form. Racing has Roger Martinez and Carbonero back in attack and with Adrian Martinez and Juanfer Quintero playing great, they should be able to score here so I’ll go with the OVER as a goal should definitely open things up.
