Independiente vs Platense
After a terrible season in 2022, Independiente showed improvements in their debut under coach Leandro Stillitano. Thanks to an own goal from Angelo Martino in the second half, El Rojo beat Talleres 1-0 away to grab three important points. Therefore, the team also made it four league matches without defeat, having won two and drawn two in that spell. At home, Independiente suffered a single loss across the last seven in league action (three victories and three stalemates). Defensive midfielder Ivan Marcone is suspended after seeing a red card at Talleres
Platense left good impressions in the season opener but weren’t able to take the three points against Newell’s Old Boys, drawing 2-2 at home in coach Martin Palermo’s debut at the club. Following that result, El Calamar extended their winless streak to nine league games (drawing four and losing five), which places them in the 25th spot of the relegation table, eight points above Sarandi Arsenal (who share the bottom place with Belgrano and Instituto). Furthermore, Platense managed a single point across their last five away matches (since beating Argentinos Juniors 2-0 in August).
Independiente won’t have important defensive midfielder Marcone, but they should be strong in attack at home, Platense looked good last week but poor defensively, so I’m going here with the OVER as we can have at least two goals and the odds are too good to pass.
