Independiente vs Lanus

Independiente produced an irregular campaign in the Copa Liga Profesional, earning only six points from 15 available in the winners’ stage, but left good impressions in their last game, when beating River Plate 2-0 away at Banfield under interim boss Fernando Beron. On a sorry note, El Rojo lost their last two home matches in league action. Coach Julio Cesar Falcioni will start his second spell at the club as he replaces Lucas Pusineri.

Lanus’ fans will have felt gutted after the team’s 3-0 defeat to Defensa y Justicia in the Copa Sudamericana’s final in Cordoba, which was their last game before the summer break. Speaking of the league, they beat Rosario Central 2-0 at home in the last matchday to stop a three-match winless run in domestic action (two draws and one defeat). On away turf, El Granate registered two victories, two stalemates and two losses in the Copa Liga Profesional. Coach Luis Zubeldia has practically the same squad as last semester at his disposal.

I like the chances of having an open game here with goals as both are good attacking teams.
