Independiente vs Colon
Independiente keep fighting for their first domestic title since 2002. In the quarter-finals, they showed a great display of effort to beat Estudiantes on penalties after a scoreless away draw in spite of having suffered a sending-off in the 58th minute. El Rojo succumbed to a single defeat in their last five league games, having won two and drawn two in regular time.
Colon are two steps away from their first league title ever. Eduardo Dominguez’s men had to wait until the penalty shootout to beat Talleres after an intense 1-1 home draw and reach this round. Even though they have been of the best teams this term, El Sabalero are quite irregular at the moment: they won only one of their last seven matches in the Copa Liga Profesional (over Sarandi Arsenal 2-0 at home), registering four regular-time draws and two losses in the process.
Colon are on the doorstep of reaching what would be a historic final for the club and I can imagine them being more motivated and prepared for this game.
