Independiente vs Colon
Independiente continue finding trouble to claim victories. Last time out, they had to settle for a 1-1 away draw at Barracas Central, having taken the lead in the first minute of the game and playing with ten men for over 60 minutes. In fact, the team are on six league games without a win, with four stalemates and two defeats since beating Talleres 1-0 away in the season opener. El Rojo accumulated only seven points, only three above bottom-placed Colon, which puts coach Leandro Stillitano’s job in danger. Independiente remain winless at home this term, having taken a single point from nine on offer at Estadio Libertadores de America.
Colon are still finding trouble to claim victories in 2023. Last Monday, the team showed an improved version but ended up drawing 1-1 against Newell’s Old Boys at home, even missing a penalty in the 73rd minute. As a result, El Sabalero remain bottom in the Liga Profesional table, accumulating four points in seven matches and trailing Sarandi Arsenal and Gimnasia LP by one. In fact, the side are without a win in their last ten matches in league action (five draws and five defeats). Four of those games took place on the road, with Colon drawing three and losing one in that span.
Independiente have been just awful lately, Colon is not reliable either but after the coach change at least they have an idea of what they are doing, so I’m going with the guests not to lose here.
