Independiente Rivadavia vs Rosario Central
Independiente Rivadavia left good impressions last Thursday, when they secured a valuable point through a 1-1 away stalemate at defending champions Estudiantes. However, La Lepra managed a single victory across their last six league matches, alongside three stalemates and two losses. Accumulating 24 points in the Liga Profesional, they remain bottom in the point-average table and still need at least 13 more points to avoid relegation. On a positive note, Independiente are unbeaten in their last three at home, winning two and drawing one without even conceding.
Rosario Central played one of their worst matches in 2024 last Thursday, when they ended up losing 1-0 to bottom-placed Barracas Central at home. That result means El Canalla are now on four league games without a win (two draws and two losses), staying on 24 points after 20 rounds of Liga Profesional action. That poor campaign leaves them just nine points above the relegation zone in the aggregate table. Central managed a single point from the last 15 on offer as the visiting side. Franco Ibarra (sent off against Barracas Central) and Emanuel Coronel (due to the yellow-card limit) are suspended for Monday.
Rosario Central has been just awful lately, with nothing to play for for the rest of this year and coming from a very poor performance losing at home against the very poor Barracas Central. Independiente Rivadavia has been improving especially at home, and they look more focused lately than the visitors.
