Independiente Rivadavia vs Barracas Central
Independiente Rivadavia are starting to live a deep crisis. Last Saturday, the team were dominated from beginning to end and succumbed to a worrying 4-1 away defeat at Union Santa Fe. That result means La Lepra are on four consecutive losses in the Copa Liga Profesional: the newcomers remain on six points after seven matches, which places them just one point above the relegation zone in the point-average table. As a result, coach Rodolfo De Paoli resigned. At home, Independiente took three points in as many games so far, winning one and losing two. Federico Arias will take over as interim boss on Thursday.
Barracas Central continue to leave good impressions in the Copa Liga Profesional. Last Saturday, the team secured a valuable point on their visit to Sarmiento, drawing 0-0 away in an uneventful match. El Guapo have been unbeaten in their last five league matches, winning three and drawing two to make it 12 points (climbing into one of the playoff spots in group A). Barracas haven’t lost any of their last five on the road (one victory and four stalemates).
Barracas are clearly over performing so far this season. They are not as good as their numbers say, and even if Independiente Rivadavia are struggling lately, I can’t see them as almost underdogs at home here and will trust them to at least avoid a defeat.
