Independiente Rivadavia – Deportivo Riestra

Independiente Rivadavia are now going through their best moment of form in the context of a hectic season. Last Monday, La Lepra managed to beat Tigre 2-0 away thanks to a brace from Sheyko Studer. As a result, they made it four consecutive victories in league action to accumulate 37 points in the Liga Profesional and the team would secure their spot in the top flight with just one more point if relegation hadn’t been cancelled. Independiente are now unbeaten in their last six as the hosting side, winning four and drawing two.

Deportivo Riestra showed a great display of effort last weekend, when they registered a scoreless stalemate against Barracas Central at home after playing with ten men for around 60 minutes. El Malevo are on eight league games without a win (seven draws and one loss in that spell), but they made it 34 points in the Liga Profesional, which would have allowed them to avoid relegation with one round to go if it hadn’t been cancelled. On a sorry note, Riestra are winless in their last 14 on away turf, drawing six and losing eight. Milton Celiz is suspended here after seeing a red card against Barracas Central.

Nothing to play for either of them in this last round but Independiente Rivadavia has been strong at home and Riestra terrible away, and they will have a few missings so I’ll go with the hosts to win this last round.
