Huracan vs San Lorenzo
Huracan are going through a deep crisis at the moment. Last Sunday, the team succumbed to a devastating 1-0 away defeat at Velez Sarsfield, conceding the winner in stoppage time after a poor performance. As a result, El Globo made it five league games without a win, drawing one and losing four in that time. They remain on four points after six Copa Liga Profesional rounds, a terrible campaign that resulted in coach Facundo Sava’s departure after the last game. Huracan claimed a single victory across their last five home matches, along with two draws and two losses. Interim boss Walter Coyette will take over on Saturday.
San Lorenzo finally managed to secure their first 2024 victory last Saturday, when they took advantage of Tigre’s crisis to beat them 2-0 at home, with Adam Bareiro and Diego Herazo scoring. After a poor start with three draws and two defeats, El Ciclon are now on six points in the Copa Liga Profesional, still far away from the playoff spots in group B.
Another big derby of this round and they arrive in totally different situations: while Huracan has been playing awful and will have an interim coach, San Lorenzo finally played a good game and won last week at home. The H2H of this derby is highly dominated by San Lorenzo by 40 more games won, so I think this is another good opportunity for them to make this difference bigger.
