Huracan vs Godoy Cruz
Huracan wasted the chance of becoming the only league leaders last Sunday, when they registered a scoreless away draw at Union Santa Fe. As a result, El Globo are now on 15 points in the Liga Profesional, trailing the four leaders by one. However, Diego Dabove’s men made it seven matches unbeaten in this competition, having won four and drawn three since losing at Racing Club in the opener. As a result, they remain occupying one of the Copa Sudamericana spots in the aggregate table. At home, Huracan haven’t lost any of their last five matches, winning three and drawing two in that spell.
Godoy Cruz showed a great display of football to reverse the score last Sunday, when they beat Lanus 2-1 at home thanks to goals from Salomon Rodriguez and Martin Ojeda. Thanks to that victory, the team are now one of the league leaders on 16 points (alongside Newell’s Old Boys, Atletico Tucuman and Argentinos Juniors) after five Liga Profesional games without defeat (four wins and one draw). Furthermore, they opened a six-point gap over the first relegation spot in the respective table, occupied by Aldosivi.
Both have been very solid so far this season and they are fighting among the top spots. Neither will see a draw as a bad result so I expect Godoy Cruz to keep it tight and not lose here.
