Huracan vs Gimnasia
Huracan succumbed to a heavy blow in a six-pointer regarding relegation. Last Thursday, they showed a worrying performance and ended up losing 1-0 away at Independiente. Having won two and lost two in the Copa Liga Profesional, El Globo remain on six points in group A, which keeps them into the relegation spot in the aggregate table, trailing Gimnasia LP and Velez Sarsfield by two points. On a positive note, Huracan are on three consecutive victories at Estadio Tomas Adolfo Duco, having beaten Velez Sarsfield, Banfield and Colon in that spell. Centre back Fernando Tobio is suspended for Tuesday after seeing a red card at Independiente.
Gimnasia LP new coach Leonardo Madelon experienced a happy debut in his second spell at the club. Last Wednesday, the team reversed the score to beat Velez Sarsfield 2-1 at home thanks to goals from Cristian Tarragona and Matias Abaldo, taking their first three points in the Copa Liga Profesional and stopping a ten-match winless streak of five stalemates and five defeats in league action. As a result, El Lobo climbed out of the relegation place in the aggregate table, now leading Huracan by two points. On away turf, Gimnasia are on seven domestic games without a win, having drawn three and lost four.
Huracan is the best team of these two but they will miss their best defender Fernando Tobio, and since this a huge relegation battle and almost a must win for both, I’ll expect to see at least a couple of goals.
