Huracan vs Atletico Tucuman
Huracan are clearly one of the worst teams in the league at the moment. Last Sunday, the side succumbed to a heartbreaking 1-0 away defeat against Independiente under interim coach Marcelo Broggi in an uneventful six-pointer regarding relegation. As a result, El Globo remain on 19 points, occupying now the relegation spot in the aggregate table after having not won any of their last eight Liga Profesional matches (three stalemates and five losses). At home, Huracan took two points from the last nine available in domestic action, drawing two and losing one. New coach Diego Martinez will make his debut on Thursday. Midfielder Santiago Hezze reached the yellow-card limit last time out and is suspended. Midfielder Federico Fattori succumbed to a foot problem and will remain sidelined for several weeks.
Atletico Tucuman took a big breather in their struggle to avoid relegation last Friday, when they beat Union Santa Fe 1-0 at home thanks to a strike from Mateo Coronel in the first half. Having won three and drawn one of their last six league matches (along with two defeats), El Decano made it 24 points in the Liga Profesional table, now holding a five-point gap over Huracan, who are now occupying the relegation spot in the respective rankings. However, coach Lucas Pusineri left the club after the game. On away turf, Atletico grabbed a single point from the last 12 on offer since beating Racing Club 3-1 in April. Coaches Sergio Gomez and Favio Orsi will make their debut at the club on Thursday.
Both teams have new coaches but while Atletico comes from a good win at home, Huracan has been just awful and will have some important missings in defense and midfield, so I expect the visitors to take something from this game.
