Huracan – Platense

Huracan must win to stay alive in the fight for the league title. On Monday, the team showed a disappointing performance and ended up losing 1-0 away at Talleres in a six-pointer. Winless in their last three matches in this competition (one draw and two defeats), El Globo dropped down to the 5th spot of the Liga Profesional table on 43 points, five behind leaders Velez Sarsfield with two rounds to go. However, Frank Kudelka’s men have secured their ticket to the 2025 Copa Sudamericana. Huracan are unbeaten in their last six at home, winning three and drawing three since losing to Tigre 2-0 in September.

Platense are still fighting for their first continental ticket in history. On Monday, the team secured a massive 1-0 home success over Union Santa Fe thanks to a penalty netted by Mateo Pellegrino in the 81st minute. El Calamar made it 36 points in the Liga Profesional to stay three points behind the last Copa Sudamericana berth in the aggregate table after losing only one of their last 12 in this competition (five wins and six draws). On a sorry note, Platense are winless in their last three on the road, drawing two and losing one without even scoring. There is no relevant injury news to contend with on Monday for coaches Sergio Gomez and Favio Orsi.

Huracan must win to get to two points behind Velez and Talleres and they play Velez in the last round next week, Platense must win to reach the last Copa Sudamericana place. The draw would be a disaster for both so they need to take risks and this short totals line is worth a bet on the OVER.
