Huracan – Independiente
Huracan coach Facundo Sava couldn’t find solutions through his rotation last weekend and the team ended up losing 2-0 away to newly-promoted side Independiente Rivadavia. That result represented El Globo’s second consecutive defeat and the side remain on three points in as many matches in the Copa Liga Profesional. Huracan claimed a single victory across the last four as the hosting side, drawing one and losing two. On Thursday, the team will return to their own stadium after playing their last home match at Argentinos Juniors.
Independiente fans will have felt unlucky last weekend as the team succumbed to an unlucky 1-0 home defeat to Gimnasia LP on Saturday. That loss stopped their two-match winning streak in league action and Carlos Tevez’s men remain on six points in the Copa Liga Profesional, which dropped them out from the playoff spots in group A. On a positive note, Independiente won three of their last four away matches, just losing to Talleres 3-2 in that spell. Midfielder Federico Mancuello is ready to return after overcoming a muscle problem.
Huracan looks nothing like the solid team they were last season. They lost a lot in attack with striker Matias Coccaro leaving the team, and today probably won’t have their most experienced attacker, Ignacio Pusseto so I’m going to trust Independiente here who will have playmaker Mancuello back from injury and they shouldn’t have lost in the last game vs Gimnasia.
