Godoy Cruz vs Independiente
Godoy Cruz came from behind last Tuesday to secure a massive 2-1 away success at Sarmiento thanks to goals from Salomon Rodriguez and Martin Ojeda. El Tomba made it two consecutive successes to accumulate 24 points in the Liga Profesional (five points behind leaders), opened a seven-point gap over the first relegation spot in the respective table and also entered the Copa Sudamericana zone in the 2022 aggregate rankings. Godoy Cruz have been strong at home lately (unbeaten in the last 11 matches, winning six and drawing five).
Independiente seem unable to overcome their crisis. Last time out, they had to settle for a 1-1 home draw against Huracan despite having taken the first lead. As a result, El Rojo made it three league games without a win (two stalemates and one defeat) and continue languishing in the low half of the league table with only 13 points in 14 games in the Liga Profesional and 29 points in 28 rounds in the whole season. On away turf, the team grabbed five points in the current competition as a product of one victory, two draws and four losses. Â
Independiente are totally unreliable but they still can score and Godoy Cruz is a very solid attacking teams so I expect to see goals here.
