Godoy Cruz vs Gimnasia
Godoy Cruz wasted a big chance of claiming a massive win at Huracan last time out following their lack of effectiveness. However, the scoreless away draw is still good news as the team made it seven league matches unbeaten (two victories and five draws). As a result of that streak, El Tomba are now on 23 points after 16 rounds of Liga Profesional action, occupying one of the Copa Sudamericana places at the moment. Godoy Cruz are on five home matches without defeat, having won two and drawn three since losing to Estudiantes 1-0 in week four.
Gimnasia LP are clearly improving in the context of a rough season. Last Monday, the team secured a big 1-0 home success over Lanus thanks to a strike from Maximiliano Comba in the 92nd minute of a hard-fought game. El Lobo extended their unbeaten streak to four league games (three victories and one draw) to make it 21 points in the Liga Profesional, a good campaign considering the club couldn’t hire any reinforcements and lost several important players last summer.
Despite the good results I still don’t think Gimnasia has improved enough, so I’ll go here with Godoy Cruz who are a strong home team.
