Godoy Cruz vs Arsenal
Godoy Cruz’s three-game winless run in league action (one draw and two defeats) came to an end last Sunday, when beating Racing Club 4-2 away in a thrilling game. That victory means Sebastian Mendez’s men made it 11 points to trail Estudiantes, who occupy the last playoff spot in group A, by one. Furthermore, the team leapfrogged Sarmiento in the points average table to climb into 24th place. At home, Godoy Cruz won one and lost two this term.
Sarandi Arsenal showed a great display of effort to secure a 0-0 home draw against River Plate in spite of being dominated from beginning to end last Saturday. However, Sergio Rondina’s men remain winless in the Copa Liga Profesional and are still occupying the bottom place in group A, having earned only two points in eight games so far. Furthermore, they lost all four away games this term at San Lorenzo, Aldosivi, Rosario Central and Argentinos Juniors.
The two worst defenses in the league (17 goals conceded in 8 games) meet here with not much to lose and I expect nothing but an open game as they both try to get the 3 points.
