Godoy Cruz – Lanus
Godoy Cruz showed improvements after coach Diego Flores’ departure and managed to beat Sarandi Arsenal 3-2 away in an entertaining game last Thursday, when interim boss Daniel Oldra took over the reins. The team made it two victories and one draw across their last four league games (along with a single defeat) to accumulate 16 points in the Liga Profesional table, climbing into 13th place. Furthermore, Godoy Cruz are without defeat in their last three at Estadio Malvinas Argentinas, taking seven points from nine available in that spell.
Lanus managed an important point last Tuesday, when they secured a 1-1 away draw at CA Central Cordoba thanks to Leandro Diaz’s equaliser in the second half. Even though El Granate claimed a single victory across their last seven matches in league action (drawing three and losing three), they continue producing a decent campaign, accumulating 18 points in the Liga Profesional table, which keeps them safe from relegation threats. Nevertheless, Lanus are winless in their last four on away turf, taking two points from 12 available in that spell.
Godoy Cruz has been irregular but solid at home so I’m going to trust them here to beat this Lanus that is a completely different team when playing away.
