Godoy Cruz – Central Cordoba

Following coach Diego Flores’ decision to rest seven of his starters, Godoy Cruz registered a scoreless away draw at Sarandi Arsenal in an entertaining game last Monday. However, El Tomba remain unbeaten under the recently appointed boss, having won three and drawn three in the league. Therefore, they made it 22 points in the Liga Profesional to occupy 23rd spot in the relegation table, one point above Friday’s opponents. As hosts, Godoy Cruz lost only one of their last six games, registering two victories and three draws in that time.

CA Central Cordoba are getting worse week after week. Last Friday, the team succumbed to their fourth consecutive defeat in the Liga Profesional (2-1 to Huracan as hosts in an intense game). Following that negative run, they are now bottom-placed in the league table on 11 points and also dropped down to the 24th place in the relegation rankings. Furthermore, El Ferroviario have been winless in their last 11 away matches in league action, having drawn six and lost five in the process.

This improved Godoy Cruz should be too much for the last placed Central Cordoba.
