Argentine Primera Division: Gimnasia vs Racing odds for April 08, 2023

Gimnasia vs Racing

After their big success in the city derby against Estudiantes, Gimnasia LP returned to losing ways last weekend, when they were dominated by Rosario Central and suffered a 3-1 away defeat. That result means El Lobo dropped down to 26th spot of the league table on eight points, just two above bottom-placed Colon, after losing three of their last five Liga Profesional matches (along with one victory and one draw). On a positive note, Sebastian Romero’s men are unbeaten in their last three league games at Estadio Juan Carmelo Zerillo, having won two and drawn one since losing to Defensa y Justicia 2-0 in round two.

Racing are starting to make up lost ground in the league. Last weekend, they secured a hard-fought 2-1 home success over Huracan thanks to goals from Matias Rojas and Gabriel Hauche. Through their third consecutive victory in this competition, La Academia accumulated 17 points, now sharing the second spot with San Lorenzo and Rosario Central, four behind table toppers River Plate.

Gimnasia lost midweek in Copa Sudamericana at home, Racing won at Chile in Libertadores, so I would expect that some starters will rest here for both teams.

4 out of 5 Gimnasia home games this season went UNDER, and I expect the same here.
