Gimnasia vs Newell’sÂ
Gimnasia LP managed a valuable point on their visit to Estudiantes in the round-ten derby following a 0-0 draw despite Harrinson Mancilla’s sending off in the second half. However, El Lobo have been winless in their last four league matches, registering two stalemates and two defeats in that span. As a result, they are on 11 points in tenth place of the group B table and in 21st in the points average rankings. At home, Gimnasia managed seven points from 12 on offer as a product of two victories, one draw and one defeat.
Newell’s Old Boys remain unbeaten in league action under recently-appointed boss German Burgos (having recorded two straight wins and three draws) following their 2-0 home success over Patronato last time out. However, the team are almost out of chances to advance to the league playoffs as they occupy 11th spot in group B on ten points. Five of those points were taken on away turf as La Lepra won one, drew two and lost two so far. Newell’s Old Boys drew 0-0 at Atletico Goianiense from Brazil in a Copa Sudamericana group game on Tuesday 20.
Â
Gimnasia might not be very reliable right now but they will be facing this Newell’s team that has won only two games this season, that comes from a game at Brazil, has another 3 games within the next 8 days and will have some missings so the home win looks very likely.
