Gimnasia vs Colon
Gimnasia LP returned to losing ways last Monday, when they ended up suffering a 1-0 away defeat at Barracas Central, having two goals disallowed in the second half. El Lobo are occupying 22nd spot on four points, two above the bottom place of the Liga Profesional table (occupied by Colon and Atletico Tucuman). In fact, they won only one of the last nine matches in league action, drawing two and losing six in that time. On a positive note, Gimnasia beat Instituto 2-0 in their last home match to break a five-game winless streak of one draw and four defeats at Estadio Juan Carmelo Zerillo. All regulars are at Sebastian Romero’s disposal to host Colon on Saturday.
Colon showed slight improvements in coach Nestor Gorosito’s debut, but they still were unable to beat Huracan’s alternative XI, drawing 1-1 at home. The new boss has a lot of work to do as the team made it eight league games without a win (three stalemates and five defeats) and accumulated only two points from 15 on offer in the current Liga Profesional, sharing the bottom spot with Atletico Tucuman. Colon are also winless in their last three on the road, having drawn two and lost one in that spell.
New Colon coach Nestor Gorosito was Gimnasia’s coach until a couple of months ago so he knows what he is going to face here, and I think he should be able to take something from this game against his ex team.
