Estudiantes vs Patronato
Thanks to a penalty netted by Mauro Boselli in the 76th minute, Estudiantes secured an important 1-0 home success over Union Santa Fe in a hard-fought game last Monday. Therefore, El Pincha suffered a single defeat across their last five league matches (winning two and drawing two) and accumulated 19 points in the Liga Profesional, which places them into the Copa Sudamericana zone in the 2022 aggregate table so far.
Patronato fans will have felt gutted after the team’s 0-0 home draw against Argentinos Juniors last Tuesday as Marcelo Estigarribia missed a penalty in the 90th minute. However, El Patron continue performing very well in the Liga Profesional, having grabbed 23 points in 15 matches after five matches unbeaten (two victories and three draws). On a sorry note, that remarkable campaign is not yet enough to climb out of the relegation zone as El Patron are now eight points behind the first safe spot in the respective table, occupied by CA Central Cordoba.
Estudiantes will miss some important players like Morel, Piatti, Godoy and Leandro Diaz, so even though Patronato are not the most reliable team when playing away, I can imagine them getting at least a draw here.
