Estudiantes vs Huracan
Estudiantes are going through a crisis at the moment. Last time out, the team suffered an unexpected 2-0 away defeat at Union Santa Fe (who were winless in the season beforehand) playing a poor game. Therefore, El Pincha remain on five points in six Liga Profesional rounds, having won one, drawn two and lost three so far and leading bottom-placed Colon and Banfield by just two points. Following this terrible campaign, coach Abel Balbo left the club right after the game. At home, Estudiantes secured a single point from nine available in 2023. New coach Eduardo Dominguez will make his debut on Sunday.
Huracan had to settle for a 1-1 home draw against San Lorenzo in an intense derby last Sunday even though they had taken the first lead thanks to Matias Coccaro’s goal. In fact, El Globo failed to climb into the top of the league table as they made it 12 points in six matches, trailing leaders San Lorenzo and Defensa y Justicia by one. However, Diego Dabove’s men remain unbeaten in this league season, having won three and drawn three so far. On away turf, the side grabbed five points from nine on offer following one victory and two stalemates.
Huracan will use at least a mixed lineup with a lot of reserves because midweek they play at Peru vs Sporting Cristal the return leg of the Copa Libertadores 3rd Qualifying Stage (0-0 at home in the 1st game) so looks like Estudiantes should take advantage of this and win under their new coach.
