Estudiantes vs Colon
Estudiantes weren’t able to stop league leaders Atletico Tucuman’s superb form and succumbed to a 3-1 away defeat last Sunday. It was their third consecutive game without a win in league action (drawing one and losing two) as El Pincha remain on 27 points in the Liga Profesional. This inconsistent campaign places them out of the Copa Libertadores zone in the 2022 aggregate table, sitting now five points behind the last qualifying berth (occupied by Gimnasia LP).
Colon are getting worse as the season progresses. On Monday, the team showed an unacceptable version and were thrashed by Argentinos Juniors 4-0 at home. That result represented their sixth consecutive game without a win in league action (one draw and five defeats). El Sabalero are producing a terrible campaign in the Liga Profesional, having earned only 19 points in 21 points (however, they are not threatened by relegation at the moment thanks to their historic performance in 2021). On away turf, Colon took a single point from the last 15 on offer.
Colon has just been terrible, they are waiting for this season to end as soon as possible, and even though they will have the debut of a new coach today they should find trouble without their best player Facundo Farias.
