Estudiantes vs Central Cordoba
Estudiantes fans must have felt devastated after the team’s 1-1 home draw against San Lorenzo in round 21 as Benjamin Rolheiser missed a penalty in the ninth minute of stoppage time. Following that result, El Pincha have been displaced from the Copa Libertadores’ spots in the aggregate table as they are now sitting in fifth on 36 points in the league, despite having lost only one of their last 13 matches in this competition (along with eight victories and four stalemates). At home, Estudiantes have been unbeaten in the last nine in domestic action, winning six and drawing three.
CA Central Cordoba continue increasing their tally in the fight to avoid relegation. Last time out, the team registered a scoreless home draw against Gimnasia LP in an entertaining match. El Ferroviario have been unbeaten in their last four matches in league action, winning one and drawing three, which keeps them seven points above the relegation spot in the league table after accumulating 25 points in 21 matches. On away turf, Central lost only one of their last six matches, along with two victories and three stalemates.
Even though Central Cordoba looks improved lately, this solid Estudiantes should be too much for them and I expect to see a comfortable home win here.
