Estudiantes vs Barracas Central
Estudiantes didn’t give up after trailing first and secured a remarkable 2-1 away success at Lanus (through a brace from Guido Carrillo) to hold onto their ticket to the Copa Liga Profesional playoffs. Following a three-match winning run in this competition, El Pincha ended up in second spot of the group A table on 27 points, just two behind leaders Godoy Cruz.
Barracas Central showed a great display of effort last Monday, when they came back from a two-goal disadvantage to secure a massive 3-3 away stalemate at Argentinos Juniors, with Nicolas Tolosa netting the equaliser in the second minute of stoppage time. El Guapo finished in third spot of the group A table on 26 points thanks to a four-match unbeaten streak of three victories and one draw in league action.
Barracas last games showed some terrible defensive performances in a 3-2 vs Instituto and the 3-3 vs Argentinos Jrs and that could be a problem against a very solid team like Estudiantes. I think Barracas were overperforming all season so far and reaching Quarterfinals was a good prize for them, but now playing this final stages could be too much for a poor overall squad.
