Estudiantes – Aldosivi
Estudiantes fans must have felt deeply frustrated last weekend when the team squandered a two-goal lead and ended up falling 3-2 away to Banfield. As a result, they were displaced from the top of Group A and remain on nine points in the Torneo Clausura after seeing their three-match winning streak in the competition come to an end. At home, El Pincha have taken seven of the last nine league points available. On Wednesday, August 20, they drew 0-0 at home against Cerro Porteño from Paraguay in the return leg of the Copa Libertadores round of 16, advancing to the quarterfinals.
Aldosivi are still struggling to find their best form this semester. Last week, the team had to settle for a dull goalless draw at home against Belgrano. Despite last week’s defeat, Estudiantes are definitely improved, if they win here they will be leaders of Group A and their mood is perfect after advancing to the Quarterfinals of Copa Libertadores, so I expect a home win.
