Deportivo Riestra vs Sarmiento
Deportivo Riestra saw their good moment of form coming to an end last Monday, when they succumbed to a devastating 4-1 away defeat to Godoy Cruz. That defeat stopped their two-match winning streak in league action and El Malevo remain on 15 points in 11 rounds of Liga Profesional action. However, Cristian Fabbiani’s men remain five points above the relegation spot in the point-average table, occupied by Independiente Rivadavia. Riestra won their last four matches at Estadio Guillermo Laza.
Sarmiento wasted a big chance last Sunday, when they had to settle for a scoreless home stalemate against Tigre in a heated six-pointer regarding the fight to stay in the top flight. Israel Damonte’s men are now on four league matches without a win (three stalemates and one loss) and without even scoring, accumulating 13 points and holding onto their seven-point gap over their last opponents, who are currently getting bottom-placed in the aggregate table. Furthermore, Sarmiento managed a single point from the last nine available as the visiting side.
Even though these are not overish teams, Riestra has scored at least once in each of their last 7 games and conceded in 8 of their last 11 so even if Sarmiento has been struggling to score I’m going to take this extremely short line here as a goal should be definitely possible and it will open things up.
