Deportivo Riestra vs Atletico Tucuman
Deportivo Riestra’s crisis seem endless. Last Thursday, they couldn’t hold onto a 1-0 lead and ended up losing 2-1 to Velez Sarsfield at home, conceding the winner in the 91st minute. El Malevo remain bottom in the aggregate table alongside Tigre (and also in the point-average rankings), accumulating a single point in five Copa Liga Profesional matches as a product of one draw and four defeats. In fact, Riestra are yet to earn points at their own stadium, having lost all three games this term.
Atletico Tucuman showed improvements last Wednesday and played a very worthy game against River Plate, securing a valuable scoreless home draw. However, the team are yet to win in 2024, accumulating just three points in the Copa Liga Profesional so far. In fact, El Decano made it six winless matches in league action, with three draws and three defeats since beating Gimnasia LP 2-1 away in November. Atletico are pointless on away turf this term, having lost to Instituto and Barracas Central without even scoring.
