Deportivo Riestra – River

Deportivo Riestra put up a good fight on their visit to Racing Club last time out, but they ended up losing 1-0 away after conceding in the fifth minute of stoppage time. That result represented their third consecutive defeat without even scoring in league action, which keeps them on three points after four Copa Liga Profesional rounds. Therefore, El Malevo remain just one point above the bottom spot of the point-average table, occupied by Independiente Rivadavia. Riestra lost 2-0 to Rosario Central in their last home game to stop a three-match unbeaten streak of two victories and one draw at Estadio Guillermo Laza.

River Plate returned to their usual form in the last league game, beating Tigre 3-1 at home following a convincing performance. Having won three of four in Liga Profesional action (along with a single defeat), El Millonario made it nine points and are now just one behind leaders, also holding onto one of the Copa Libertadores berths in the aggregate rankings. On a sorry note, River claimed a single victory across their last six domestic matches on the road, drawing three and losing two. Franco Armani, Paulo Diaz and Miguel Borja have joined their respective national squads and won’t feature here.

Important missings for River due to the Copa America, including their best striker Miguel Borja. Playing away they’ve been quite poor lately and while I don’t fully trust Riestra, I expect a tight game here so I’ll go for the UNDER considering the hosts have no goals scored in the last 3 games.
