Defensa y Justicia vs Platense

Defensa y Justicia were close to claim an important victory away at Patronato last Tuesday, but they eventually ended up drawing 3-3 after conceding the equaliser in stoppage time. However, Sebastian Beccacece’s men are improving lately: they haven’t lost any of the last four league games, taking ten points from 12 on offer. That means El Halcon are on 25 points in the Liga Profesional’s table and also are fighting for a ticket to the Copa Sudamericana in 2022. At home, Defensa are on seven league matches unbeaten, having won five and drawn two since losing to Godoy Cruz in July.

Platense had to settle for a 1-1 home stalemate against Rosario Central in an intense game last Tuesday. However, it’s not bad news for them: the newly-promoted side are now on six league matches without defeat, having won two and drawn four in that span. Accumulating 20 points in the Liga Profesional, El Calamar are occupying the 19th place in the relegation table. On away turf, Platense are on three games unbeaten, having taken seven points from nine on offer in the process.
