Defensa y Justicia vs Patronato
Defensa y Justicia seem to be recovering. Last Monday, the team claimed a massive 2-1 away success at Estudiantes thanks to goals from Adonis Frias and Andres Rios to make it two victories in two games under interim coach Nicolas Diez. Having lost only one of their last five in league action (three wins and one draw), El Halcon accumulated 25 points in the Liga Profesional and hold onto one of the Copa Sudamericana spots in the aggregate table.
Patronato are running out of time to avoid relegation. Last Tuesday, the team had to settle for a scoreless home draw against Rosario Central in a hard-fought game. The team have produced a good campaign so far, accumulating 28 points in the Liga Profesional, but they claimed a single victory across their last seven league games (four draws and two losses) and, following that negative streak, Facundo Sava’s men remain bottom in the relegation table, ten points behind CA Central Cordoba and Sarandi Arsenal, who are safe.
Draws are becoming useless for Patronato as they must win to keep their chances of avoiding relegation alive, so sooner or later they will have to take risks to go for the 3 points and that should give us an open game.
