Defensa y Justicia vs Lanus
Defensa y Justicia continue improving game after game. Last time out, they managed a big success, beating River Plate (who had already secured the title) 3-2 away. As a result, El Halcon extended their unbeaten streak to 11 league matches (nine victories and two draws in that spell). Lanus have run out of chances to fight for a Copa Libertadores’ ticket after wasting a 2-0 lead against Rosario Central at home last time out. The 2-2 draw means the team extended their winless streak to five league matches, drawing three and losing two, and they accumulated 37 points in the Liga Profesional. As a result of a good season, El Granate will be participating in the Copa Sudamericana in 2022. On away turf, Lanus are on two consecutive defeats (to Patronato and Racing Club). Coach Luis Zubeldia will be missing Lautaro Acosta and Diego Braghieri again and he also will say goodbye after this game.
