Defensa y Justicia vs Huracan
Defensa y Justicia suffered a heavy blow in their last league match, as they were clearly outplayed and fell 3-0 away to Unión Santa Fe. The defeat ended their three-match unbeaten run (two wins and one draw) and dropped El Halcón from first to fourth place in Group A with 19 points, all but ending their hopes of qualifying for the Copa Sudamericana through the aggregate table. They must now focus on securing a playoff spot in the Torneo Clausura. Defensa have been strong at home this semester, winning five, drawing one, and losing one.
Huracán’s poor run in the league worsened last weekend, as they put in a very disappointing display and lost 1-0 at home to CA Central Córdoba. El Globo have won just one of their last eight league matches (with four draws and three defeats in that span), dropping out of the playoff zone in Group A with 16 points. They also missed another opportunity to climb into Copa Sudamericana qualification spots in the aggregate table. Away from home, Huracán are winless in their last four (three draws and one loss).
Both have been irregular this season but while Defensa at least has been strong at home and are still in the playoffs zone of Group A, Huracan has been terrible lately and won’t have again playmaker Leonardo Gil, one of their best players so I’ll go with a home win.
