Defensa y Justicia vs Huracan
Defensa y Justicia showed a great display of effort to take a 1-1 away draw at Lanus last Friday despite playing with ten men during over 70 minutes. With two points in as many matches in the Liga Profesional, Sebastian Beccacece’s men hold one of the Copa Sudamericana spots in the aggregate table, but they also are on three league games (two stalemates and one defeat since beating Patronato 1-0 at home in May). On a positive note, Defensa suffered a single defeat across their last 19 domestic matches at Estadio Norberto Tomaghello, having won ten and drawn eight. Striker Nicolas Fernandez, who surprisingly came off the bench last time out a few hours after returning to the club from San Lorenzo, is expected to start here.
Huracan claimed their first victory under recently-appointed coach Diego Dabove last Friday, when they managed to beat Rosario Central 2-0 at home. Thanks to that win, El Globo made it three points in the Liga Profesional, stopped a two-game losing streak in league action and got into the fight for a ticket to the 2023 Copa Sudamericana. On away turf, Huracan lost their last two matches to Independiente and Racing Club without even scoring in the process.
With Nicolas Fernandez back I expect Defensa to be a better team, they are due a win after two decent performances in the first two games, so I think this should be a home win.
