Defensa y Justicia vs Godoy Cruz
Defensa y Justicia had to settle for a disappointing 1-1 home draw against Sarmiento last time out even though they had taken the first lead. That result represented their second point in two games of Copa Liga Profesional action. Winless in their last three league commitments (two stalemates and one loss), El Halcon remain just one point behind the last Copa Libertadores berth in the aggregate table, occupied by Boca Juniors. On a positive note, Defensa made it nine domestic games unbeaten as the hosting side, winning five and drawing four.
Godoy Cruz secured a massive point on their visit to Lanus last weekend, drawing 2-2 away thanks to a goal from Tadeo Allende in the 95th minute of stoppage time. El Tomba made it four points in two Copa Liga Profesional matches and three league games unbeaten (winning two and drawing one) to continue sitting into one of the Copa Sudamericana spots in the aggregate table (in fact, they are just two points behind the top four). On a sorry note, Godoy Cruz are winless in their last eight on the road, having drawn five and lost three since beating CA Central Cordoba 2-0 in April.
When they met in the previous tournament not long ago they finished in a very entertaining 2-2 draw, and I expect another open game here as they are both very good attacking teams.
